E-Bikes Give You Freedom

Ten years ago I bought my first E-bike and I have never been sorry that I did.
I originally bought an e-bike because I was afraid of going long distances on the bike trail after one too many times of losing track of how far I went and having to go all the way back home with spent legs. The pain I would feel in the final two or three miles back to where I parked my car was agony. Followed by days of recovery.
I love exploring the countryside and tow paths and seeing all of nature but the inevitable pain on the trip home made me leery of biking. An activity I loved, to a point. Ha ha
That bike was an Avedon Pace 500. It was green, not my favorite color but I was eager to see if it was as good as the reviewers said. As soon as the battery charged, I took it for a ride around the neighborhood. I went up that ‘one’ hill that is scary to drive during icy conditions and I was delighted with how easily I pedaled up it without my thighs exploding in pain. It was Love at first bike.
That’s when I realized that my old car bike rack was woefully inadequate for the job of taking my bike to the bike trail.
So it was back to the computer to order a bike rack strong enough for my E-bike and while I was at it, I had a tow hitch mounted on my car.
I must say, I do love how secure my bike rides on my car now. When I was transporting my old 10-speed I was always nervous about how much it bounded in my rear-view mirror.
With this new tow hitch mount. The bike looks totally secure and I haven’t worried since.
Now, the first time I took my E-bike on the familiar tow path, it felt like heaven. Now more fears about losing track and going to far. No more worries about that tall looking hill ahead. I can zip along the bike paths and countryside without a care because I know there is nothing me and my bike can’t handle.
E-bikes are for everyone, no matter what your fitness level is. The bike shifts easily from normal biking mode where you are doing all the work to full motor mode which is great if you get a leg cramp and want the bike to do all the work.
